Welcome to Character Creation Part 2
And in this episode we're going to be looking at texturing our
Character
So um, we're going to be in a process called UV Mapping
And if anyone isn't familiar with term that, Let me just give a
Quick Example of what it is.
So imagine you have a cube you want to Texture.
The Easiest way to do it if we cut it on the Edges so that we can unfold the Edges into a sort of 2D form.
And Uh you can just draw on this 2D form in say Photoshop for example and once you're done.
You can just stick that Image on the Object, and Uh the computer will just sort of wrap it all up.
So that's really UV mapping all about. With that said, let's have a look at how we actually do all of this.
Okay, Before we Begin Let's Just Press N to disable Background Images, Because we won't be needing those
Anymore.
And uh, Drag this icon on the Top Right Corner to open up a New Window and We can set this window to a UV Window.
And Now were going to go in edit Mode and edit our Character and we'll be working Mostly with uh edge Select Tools
and so now to start
let's select this whole ring with edge select on. Around the shoulder. Press control E and select mark scene
from the rest of the body. we'll do the same thing around the hand. To sep
